Jim Gaines, a man that believed in God, a man that believed in family,
a man that believed in miracles and a man that believed in finding good in all people. Reverend Jim Gaines, "Father Gaines" to so many, was an amazing man. His love
for the Lord was truly inspirational and evident in all that he did.
Father Gaines was born on November 3, 1930 in Talladega,
AL. He joined the marines just out of high school, where he served as a chaplain's assistant. After the service,
he ministered to the needy across the US and settled in NY in 1965, where he met his wife, Rose Marie Meringola.
Together, with her mom, they founded the Mission. Father Gaines served the Lord here in Huntington Station, NY,
and around the world, helping people everywhere he went. His life here on earth has been a true blessing to so many
people in all walks of life. On October 29, 2010, Father
Gaines went home to be with the Lord. He will be missed at the Mission and by his family, friends, and colleagues around
the world. His memory will live on forever within all those that knew him. His countless stories are so very precious.
His hope in the Lord a continuous encouragement. Jimmie A. Gaines’ ministry was world reaching, heart touching,
and life changing. He had undying love for his Lord and Savior, a clearly and continuously spoken adoration for his
wife, and a desire to serve God by serving His people, spreading His Word, and sharing His love.
